Tutti vendiamo qualcosa: prodotti, servizi, know how

1.    Far finta di essere qualcosa che non siete;
2.    Promettere ciò che non potete mantenere
3.    Presentarsi solo per promuovere voi stessi
4.    Approcciare solo in modo commerciale
5.    Essere noiosi, verbosi e cattedratici
6.    Volere tutto e subito
7.    Sparare messaggi ovunque.

Ecco invece 12 buoni consigli:

1. Imparate ad ascoltare
4. Curate ogni minimo dettaglio, sempre
5. Cominciate a piccoli passi e testate gradualmente gli strumenti a disposizione
6. Siate coerenti, affidabili, chiari verso i vostri interlocutori
7. Cercate di essere sempre positivi e affidabili
8. Utilizzate i social media per dialogare, conoscere, scambiare idee
9. Coltivate e curate le relazioni
10.Impegnatevi costantemente nella vostra formazione professionale
12. Provate e misurate, ed ancora provate.

Stefano Principato is a consultant and trainer: his areas of expertise are marketing and personal branding. Through his blog Marketing Personale , whose he is author together with  Anna Maria Carbone,  he provides support to professional, free lance, salesmen, entrepreneur and managers at any level to grow their business and their personal success.
He’s got a second blog Valori Primi Lab where he shares ideas and clues about the evolution of marketing and communication through the analysis of business cases, books, articles and links.
Both blogs, while being written in Italian, offer a lot of documents taken from the web, thanks to a deep and reasoned search, and thus very often available in English.

Stefano, like the other experts that we have interviewed till now, is fully awarded to teach us hoe to improve our personal reputation and increase our sales performances

1)    which link do you see between sales efficiency and personal reputation?

The core problem for every business activity is to find out and keep clients. We all sell something: products, services, know how.
Nowadays it’s more and more important to establish a long term relationship with our clients: and the best glue is mutual trust. That’s why a good reputation can be a strong support.
You can build and secure your personal reputation through responsible behaviors and a wise promotional activity.

2)    Personal marketing: is this a chance for few chosen ones or is it an opportunity for everyone?

It’s really an interesting approach for everyone who wants to test oneself, to give value to one’s own competencies and wants to (re)-write one’s own future through a system made of thoughtful choices.  That’s why we have drawn a more scientific approach that helps you through 12 variables to write your personal marketing plan.
3)    Which benefits could be achieved by professional or free lance by applying a personal marketing strategy?

Two are the main benefits:
clear choices and therefore a clear strategy to follow
and a focused promotional activity targeting only those people that are interested or that could be interested in our activities.

4)    Personal marketing: just web stuff or could it be used also in real life?

Personal marketing is a lens through which you can look at you and at the world around you.  It’s a way to relate and build values with the environment based on the goals that we have established.

Consequences are that both on-line and off-line, in the real world, we have to behave consistently to be trustworthy and useful. We have indentified 8 factors that are required to develop an effective brand personale

5)    Which are the mistakes that you must not make when applying a personal marketing campaign?

As I wrote in my collective ebook “Esperienze di marketing personale” seven are the deadly mistakes you can make:

  1. Lying about yourself pretending to be who you are not
  2. Promising what you cannot keep
  3. Showing up just to promote yourself
  4. Just trying to sell
  5. Being boring, wordy, proudly magisterial
  6. Wanting everything right now
  7. Spamming your messages everywhere

These are the twelve positive factors you should apply

  1. Start listening and learn how to listen
  2. Find your positioning first, and try to be different
  3. Focus on clients you can offer the best advantages
  4. Always take care of any minimal details
  5. Start slowly testing the tools you want to use
  6. Be consistent, trustworthy, clear
  7. Try to be always positive and reliable
  8. Use social media to discuss and get new ideas
  9. Take care of people, strengthen relationship
  10. Never stop studying and learning
  11. Be patient!
  12. Try and check and try again and check again…
